Research Manager

Jie is from Korla, China and completed her Master’s degree at Dalhousie University. She joined Dr. Wong’s research team as a Research Assistant in 2019. Jie assists with research ethics applications, and data management, collection and analysis. She is also responsible for technique video-editing, publication submissions, coordination with trainees' research projects, and research and fellowship account management. Jie likes hiking, road tripping, doing hot yoga, playing fitness games, and spending time with her cats Lucky and Happy.

Research Coordinator

Sarah is from Ajax, Ontario and joined the team at Dalhousie Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine in March 2021. Sarah graduated from the University of Waterloo with Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Kinesiology ('18) and a Master of Science in Kinesiology with a specialization in Biomechanics ('21). Sarah is currently pursuing a PhD in Health at Dalhousie University ('26) where she will explore the biomechanics of rotator cuff tears.  Sarah's current role with the team involves prospective project coordination and management, writing grant applications, research ethics submission, surgical video editing, and virtual surgical education development. Sarah enjoys hiking with her dog, Stanley, golfing, and reading a good book.

 Research Coordinator 

Aleks joined the Dalhousie Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine team in 2024. Aleks has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Kinesiology from Queen’s University, Master of Science (Sports Biomechanics) from McGill University, and PhD in Health from Dalhousie University. She has experience with research spanning the fields of biomechanics, orthopaedics, ergonomics, healthcare quality, and sport performance. As a Research Manager, she contributes to study design and conception, grant writing, study coordination, research ethics submission, data analysis, and manuscript writing and editing. Aleks enjoys hiking by the ocean, spending time on the water, and walking her dog.

Felicia is from Orangeville, Ontario and joined the Dalhousie Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine team in September 2023. Felicia graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Chemistry and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (’18) and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Research (’23). She is currently enrolled in the Physician Assistant program at Dalhousie University. Felicia’s current role with the team involves prospective project planning, coordination, and data collection, retrospective project data collection, analysis, learner coordination and publication, and research ethics submissions. Felicia enjoys hiking with her dog Phantom, playing rugby, paddle boarding, and spending time with friends and family.

Jhanos is from Nassau, Bahamas and joined the team as a Research Student Aide in 2023. Jhanos graduated from both Acadia University and Dalhousie University with a Bachelor's in Applied Science ('21) and Industrial Engineering ('24), respectively. In his role, Jhanos assists with the management of research databases as well as improving upon internal and technological processes within the team. He also works on the 3D printing and reconstruction for study purposes. Jhanos enjoys playing basketball, hitting the gym and watching a good movie.

Isaac is from Lower Argyle, Nova Scotia, and joined the Dalhousie Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine team in September, 2024. Isaac graduated from The University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Kinesiology (‘21), and a Master of Science in Kinesiology (‘23) while also competing as a dual-sport varsity athlete. After graduating, Isaac instructed Functional Human Anatomy at the University of New Brunswick before pursuing full-time research with the team. Isaac’s current role involves prospective project planning, coordination, and data collection. Isaac enjoys running, golfing, and playing basketball.

NOAH KARABANOW

Originally from Chengdu, Sichuan, China, Jiaxin joined the Dalhousie Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine team in September 2024. She holds a BSc Honours in Kinesiology and an MSc in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University, where her graduate research focused on shoulder biomechanics. In her current role, Jiaxin contributes to a variety of research activities, including data collection and analysis, learner coordination, manuscript preparation, and research ethics submissions. She is especially passionate about applying diverse analytical models, streamlining data analysis processes, and exploring innovative approaches in research. Outside of work, Jiaxin enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with friends and family, hiking, trying out new recipes, and discovering cozy coffee spots around the city.

Noah is from Halifax, Nova Scotia and joined the team as a Research Student Aide in 2022. He has remained with the team since 2022, working part-time during his studies and full-time during the summers. He is currently in his final year of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology at McGill University. In his role, Noah assists with creating promotional material, working on retrospective research projects, creating and updating study spreadsheets, managing surgical videos, and assisting in the clinic. Noah enjoys surfing, travelling, and spending time with his golden retriever Berkeley.
